The High Desert Museum hosts a Prohibition Party, this Friday the 17th
This year marks the 100th anniversary of nationwide Prohibition, and to commemorate the start of Prohibition and the Roaring ’20s, the High Desert Museum is hosting a Prohibition Party on Friday, January 17. Which basically turns the Museum into a speakeasy for the night. This just looks like fun:
The roaring ‘20s are back! And it’s time to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Prohibition in the High Desert. Join us for live music, Charleston lessons by Bend Lindy Hop, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a ritzy costume contest (come dressed in 1920s attire), photo booth and far-out trivia to make your head spin! This joint will be the cat’s meow! This event is for ages 21 and older.
The party runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30.
The specialty cocktails will be from Oregon Spirit Distillers, and there will be a no-host bar. Tickets are available online here and cost $15.
And a shameless plug: you can read about Prohibition in Bend in my book Bend Beer: A History of Brewing in Central Oregon.
