Weekend beer happenings
Here’s a roundup of the beer happenings going on this weekend for July 19-21.
Deschutes Brewery is hosting its annual Barrel-Aged Beer Tasting at the Mountain Room Friday night starting at 6pm. “Beer is great and all, but barrel-aged beer — now, that’s an entirely different story. At our annual Barrel-Aged Beer Tasting, we will be featuring 8 of our finest handcrafted, barrel-aged brews. Ranging in styles from stouts to sours, each will be paired with a small plate of damn tasty food. Get your tickets to taste these amazing beers and tasty bites before they are gone!”
Also Friday, Avid Cider and Immersion Brewing are hosting their Friday night block party that’s going on every week starting at 7pm. “Join us every Friday night this summer for live music on the patio between AVID and Immersion in Bend! This summer series showcases a variety of wonderful sounds – We love supporting local talent!” This week it’s G Bots and the Journeymen.
On Saturday, Immersion Brewing is hosting Central Oregon’s 2019 Hazy Beer Summit starting at 1pm: “Do you love Hazy IPA?! Well now is your chance to taste all of Central Oregon’s best Hazy IPAs during our first annual Hazy Summit. Join Immersion Brewing and multiple local craft breweries for a one day festival celebrating the love of Hazy beers.”
Kobold Brewing on Sunday is throwing a Summer Hawaiian Party at The Vault Taphouse in Redmond. “Join us Sunday for a party on the patio! We’ll have three Kona Brewing beers on tap on the patio, two awesome, tropical ciders from our friends at Legend Cider Company, and Kona Ice will be here starting at 12:00. Bring the kids for shave ice! Mark Piper will be displaying some of his awesome underwater photography and our food trucks will be serving up some food with a Hawaiian flare. The evening will be capped off with music from Eric Leadbetter! Just another reason to come to Downtown Redmond!”
And Monkless Belgian Ales is celebrating Belgian Independence Day on Sunday with Belgian-style beer starting at 1pm. “What better way to celebrate Belgian’s Independence in Bend than with a local Belgian style ale! We won’t have a military parade on site, but we will have an extensive lineup of traditional style Belgian ales available for your inspection! Our friends from A & J’s Fish-N-Chips will be here serving up some great fish fry for the occasion!”
