Downtown Bavaria: Bend Oktoberfest starts today
The annual Bend Oktoberfest begins today, taking over part of downtown Bend with German-themed festivities, beer, music, weiner dog races, and more! The event is hosted each year by the Downtown Bend Business Association, as a fundraiser to support the businesses and beautification of downtown Bend, and revels in its Bavarian traditions.
Oktoberfest takes place from 3 to 10pm today (Friday), and noon to 10pm Saturday the 22nd. (Which coincidentally is the official start of Oktoberfest in Munich.) It’s free to attend, but if you want to drink beer, you’ll need a wristband, stein, and tokens. Here are the prices:
- Plastic Stein + Beer Token = $8.00
- Ceramic Stein + Beer Token = $14.00
- Beer Tokens $5.00/each (good for a full pour — no tasters)
- Kombucha Tokens $4.00
- Plastic Stein only (no token) $5.00
- Ceramic Stein only (no token) $10.00
- Wine tokens $7.00/each (*No wine glass purchase necessary*)
There are plenty of things to do, and plenty of beer to drink! Here’s a summary of what’s pouring:
