This press release came through my email from the Bend Fire Department just minutes ago:

The intersection of 14th and NW Galveston is closed due to a gas leak. The incident occurred a few minutes ago as a construction crew hit a main gas line, and we expect that the intersection will be closed for several hours. Please plan your afternoon and evening travels accordingly.

So stay clear of the area for now. (As of 4:40pm on 4/19.)
