Redmond’s Third Friday Stroll – “Central Oregon Spirits”
Every third Friday of the month, downtown Redmond hosts a “stroll” in the evening with participating businesses open late and offering special events, refreshments, and music—think Bend’s First Friday Art Walk. It’s their Third Friday Stroll and it takes place from 5 to 8pm.
This Friday, September 18, the Third Friday Stroll has the theme of “Central Oregon Spirits” which should be a good evening! As a bonus, Paulina Springs Books has invited me back to sign and sell my own book, Bend Beer, and they have posted a great overall description of the evening:
Get ready for a fun night on the town with this month’s Third Friday Stroll! The theme is spirits, and many of the downtown buisinesses will be participating. We will be welcoming back Jon Abernathy, the author of Bend Beer: A History of Brewing in Central Oregon. You can enjoy some spirits from Bend Distillery at the Shabbie Attic, and then head over to Redmond Craft Brewing [the homebrew supply shop] to check out home brewing supplies and sample a recently brewed beer. The Greater Historical Society Museum of Redmond will be displaying an antique distillery, as well as antique beer bottles and cans. It’s going to be a great evening! As you wander between the participating businesses, you can enjoy the music of the two bands, Hat Trick and Mosely Wotta, that will be playing downtown.
In fact the Redmond Craft Brewing Supply brewed two beers that will be on tap for the night, and on top of everything else I’m sure Wild Ride Brewing will be hopping too (they in fact have their 3 Sisters Wet Hopped Red Ale release that night).
It’s going to be a great evening, so come on out to Redmond, hit the Stroll, and come say “Hi!” to me at Paulina Springs Books! Let’s make it a fun night!
Should check out the new growler station also. Next to DQ
