Mt. Bachelor’s first Volcanic Bike and Brew Festival
Coming up this weekend is an event that combines two of the region’s great attractions—biking and beer—for the inaugural Volcanic Bike and Brew Festival being held by Mt. Bachelor. It seems a natural extension to Mt. Bachelor’s summer bike park program:
In our second full summer of Bike Park operations, we felt the timing was right to start a new signature summer event here at the mountain. The motivation for the Volcanic Bike and Brew Festival originates in community and fun. Featuring the third stop of the Oregon Enduro Series, several Central Oregon Bike shops, numerous breweries from across the Northwest and many other vendors, this will be a great opportunity for local and visiting mountain bike enthusiasts to get away for a weekend.
From Friday, August 21st through Sunday the 23rd, they will be offering a number of activities, including:
- Live music
- Beer garden and sampling
- Bike races
- Bike clinics
- Camping
You can pre-register for a number of different packages and levels; if you want the entire 3-day package, it’s $130 for instance, while a 1-day bike park pass is $20, and if you just want to do the beer festival part and sample that will cost $15 for a pint glass and 8 tokens.
Participating breweries include Deschutes, Sunriver, 10 Barrel, Worthy, GoodLife, RiverBend, Cascade Lakes, Red Tank Cider, Atlas Cider, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, North Rim, Base Camp, Ninkasi, Laurelwood, Pfriem, Full Sail, Three Creeks, and Volcano Vineyards. The beer garden will be open Friday and Saturday from 3 to 9pm.
For the Oregon Enduro Series portion of the weekend, the big race day is Sunday the 23rd, which has its own registration if you’re racing.
