Super surprising news of the day: Connecting Point Computer Center, in downtown Bend, is closed!

The computer store and Apple dealer has been a mainstay on Franklin Avenue for years, and I hadn’t heard anything about going out of business—there’s nothing as I write this on Twitter, Facebook, or elsewhere, so this seems rather sudden.

A call to their main phone number has the message that the store is closing, and they will not be able to provide service or support anymore. A quick trip to their store confirmed the closure—the sign reads, “Store Closed. Please see our other location in Medford, OR.” (Medford is where they started, way back in 1975.)

Perhaps with Simply Mac in town, there just wasn’t enough Apple business in the area for two stores?
