First Friday and video games!
It’s beautiful weather for the First Friday of May kicking off tonight at 5pm downtown—are you going out? You know the routine:
Sensational local & national art at dozens of businesses on the first Friday of every month. Shops are matched with artists, musicians, and performers. Many businesses stay open late and will serve food and wine as they welcome you in to enjoy their space and this wonderful evening.
There are a bunch of great events lined up all across downtown, just waiting to be discovered. The general event runs from 5 to 9pm though some venues will be open longer.
And apparently, today is the grand opening of Bend’s first(?) classic arcade right downtown—Vector Volcano Arcade! I had no idea this was coming, but they are located at 111 Oregon Avenue and here’s their pitch:
Vector Volcano Classic Arcade features arcade and pinball machines from the 80s and 90s for families to enjoy. Brett Pulliam, former Pixar animator of 18 years, and Danielle Pulliam, an elementary school teacher, share a passion for preserving classic gaming. We strive to create a nostalgic classic arcade environment showcasing games in their best original condition.
That is awesome! Tonight they’ll be serving Boneyard RPM IPA for First Friday… beer and classic video games, can it get any better?
