There are a couple of fun beery and cidery happenings going on this weekend that you might want to brave the cold and snow to check out.

First, McMenamins Old St. Francis School is celebrating their 10 year anniversary tomorrow (Saturday) starting at 4pm, featuring live music, a special beer (their 2000th batch!), tours of the property, cake, and more. Here is the schedule and details on that specialty beer:

The Old St. Francis School is in the mood to celebrate! It’s our 10-year Anniversary here in Bend and along with that we have brewed our 2,000th batch of beer here! To really celebrate these accomplishments, the brewery decided to create a style of beer that is not always celebrated as it should. The Belgian Dubbel is a beer with roots in the breweries of monks, along with Trappists and Flemish ales. We used an Abbey yeast strain that lends the deep ester (fruity) flavors that meld well with the malt sweetness. A rich and complex flavor makes this a must-have as a pint. A slight alcohol warmth delivers the finish of the drink due to its higher ABV. Definitely a drink to enjoy with a merry occasion as well with a plethora of friends and family! And over on the west side, Broken Top Bottle Shop is holding their 3rd annual Westside Wassail Song & Cider Festival all weekend long, starting today at 4pm. Tastings will be running from 4 to 9pm today, 2 to 9pm on Saturday, and 4 to 9pm on Sunday, with live music accompanying throughout.

2 Towns Ciderhouse, Nectar Creek Honeywine, Tieton Cider Works, Wandering Aengus Ciderworks, ATLAS Cider Company, Schilling Cider, Red Tank Cider, Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider, Fire Cirkl, & Far Afield Cider will be POURING FREE SAMPLES during the 3 days of cider tastings!

Just the thing to cozy up to during our early winter!
