Wild Ride Brewing in Redmond is opening this Saturday
Central Oregon’s newest brewery, Wild Ride Brewing, will be opening up their taproom doors this Saturday, May 10 for their official launch! Wild Ride is located in downtown Redmond at 332 SW 5th Street, in the old Parr Lumber building on the former main drag. They’re a 20-barrel production brewery with a tasting room and patio—but not a brewpub.
Opening time is 11am and it sounds like they will have 10 or more beers on tap; I don’t know if all of these will be their own, or if there will be guest taps. And though they won’t have food, there will be food carts on hand which will be a welcome addition to the beer.
So what do we know about that beer? The brewer (and co-owner) is Paul Bergeman, who brewed previously for Laurelwood Brewing in Portland and Kona Brewing in Hawaii. Among the beers that I’ve seen referenced online are Whoopty Whoop Wheat, a Pale Ale, an IPA named “Fly.P.A.” along with a first (unnamed) IPA, and Brain Bucket Imperial IPA. And it’s also apparent that they have a barrel program going, so I’d expect some barrel-aged beers in a few months (probably just in time for the Little Woody).
By my count, Wild Ride will be brewery #26 for Central Oregon, following up on Redmond’s Juniper Brewing a few months ago. If you want to find out more about them, head on over to Redmond on Saturday to check them out!
