Two of Deschutes Brewery’s employees were recently diagnosed with cancer, and to help cover their medical bills the Brewery is hosting a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament fundraiser this next Wednesday, March 5, which will also feature a silent auction.

Two employees from our Deschutes Brewery Family have been diagnosed with Cancer. In order to help Chris [Steavens] and Misael [Molina], we are having a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament Fundraiser & Silent Auction. All proceeds will go towards Chris and Misael’s growing medical expenses.

Buy-in is $50 and includes dinner, (3) beer tokens, & (2) raffle tickets. Also, there will be sweet Deschutes Brewery swag raffled throughout the night!

1st place receives a $200 cash purse
2nd place receives a case of beer a month for 1 year
3rd place receives a $75 gift card to our Pub

Suggested donation entry fee is $20 which includes food and 1 raffle ticket

The fundraiser runs from 5:30 to 10pm at the Pub Tap Room (the upstairs portion of the downtown pub).

The $50 price is a good deal considering what’s included in the price (dinner, 3 beers, 2 raffle tickets plus the poker buy-in) and you can purchase them ahead of time online here—as well as make a direct donation if that suits you better. Tickets can also be purchased at the Pub and the Brewery on Colorado and Simpson.

Don’t forget the silent auction either: I know there will be some great items available for sale to bid on, including two vertical flights of The Abyss consisting of 2007, 2008, and 2009 bottled vintages.

This will be a fun night for a great event with all the proceeds going directly to the medical bills incurred by Steavens and Molina. If you can make it and help out, you won’t be sorry!
