Fermentation Celebration
July is Oregon Craft Beer Month across the state and here in Bend, the Old Mill District is celebrating this week with a party: the Fermentation Celebration! Thursday the 12th is when it’s taking place, and I believe most if not all of our local breweries will be represented to embrace Central Oregon’s fantastic beer culture. This is going to be a lot of fun—think First Friday for beer!
The Fermentation Celebration beer walk will take place on Thursday, July 12 in the Old Mill District from 5 to dry. A kick off to Oregon Craft Brewers Month, the event offers beer samples of our numerous local breweries at various shops and restaurants. Center Plaza will have live music by Boxcar Stringband from 5-7pm followed by a presentation by the Mayor and City Council at 7pm on the importance of our craft brewing industry to the city’s economy.
Entry to the event is free. Tasting are $15 and includes nine drink tickets and a Silipint. (One ticket = 4 oz. pour.) Enjoy fabulous beer in the Old Mill District’s limited edition Silipints which will be sold at Orvis, Ticket Mill and Central Oregon Visitor Association.
Bend Film will premiere The Love of Beer a film showcasing women brew masters including our very own Tonya Cornett. Alison Grayson, the filmmaker will be on hand to answer questions.
The banner/page is here, and Facebook event page is here.
This is definitely going to be a great evening, and on top of everything else you can also purchase tickets to try to win Beer for a Year via the Bend Ale Trail! If you love Central Oregon beer, then you have to be there!
So, who’s going?
