Pastrami Old World Deli opens in former downtown Letzer’s spot
When Letzer’s Deli closed both of their locations a couple of months back, it left a old-style deli void in Bend’s restaurant landscape. Fortunately someone decided to fill that void and Letzer’s former downtown location, and thus the Pastrami Old World Deli is now open (they officially opened on Friday the 1st).
The Source had a short writeup on the Deli a few days before:
Pastrami will offer half pound pastrami, corned beef, roast beef and turkey sandwiches. Expect prices to be just shy of $10 for those. They’ll also offer a smaller sandwich for those who cannot stomach the massive knot of meat synonymous with the Letzer’s locales.
Soups and salads round out the relatively small menu, in addition to wine and local beers on draft. Boneyard RPM and GoodLife are some of the first taps up.
So far the buzz I’ve seen is good, and you can keep tabs on them on their Facebook page.
They’re at 431 NW Franklin, in Suite 150 just behind the ReMax office.
