Bend winners at the Great American Beer Festival
The Great American Beer Festival has been going on this weekend, and yesterday the winners for best beers in various categories were announced—these are kind of like the Olympics for beer. And of the 15 medals that Oregon breweries won, 6 of those are from three of Bend’s breweries:
- Deschutes Brewery won a gold medal for Bourbon Murder (though this was apparently a beer made in their Portland Pub), a bronze medal for Pinot Jubel, and another bronze for Down ‘n’ Dirty IPA. (3 total)
- Bend Brewing Company won a bronze medal for Ching Ching (on tap now!). (1 total)
- Silver Moon Brewing won a gold medal for Dark Side Stout, and a bronze medal for Legacy Lager (both on tap now!). (2 total)
It hardly needs to be said that this further cements Bend’s reputation as a premier beer town; congratulations to all three breweries, and everyone should visit to try some of these award-winning beers.
Congrats to the beer makers of Bend! I love your beer!
