Bend Fall Festival (2011)
The Bend Fall Festival starts tomorrow (or today, depending on when you read this)—the first Saturday of October. As with the other seasonal events, Downtown Bend will be largely closed off (their PDF map shows you exactly what will be closed) and there will be two music stages, artist booths, the food court and alcohol area, and a large family area (featuring autumn-themed activities like a hay maze, apple bobbing, pumpkin painting, and more). The Children’s Costume Swap is also taking place there on Saturday from 11 to 6.
And I don’t know if this is new this year, but there’s a bit of Oktoberfest that’s going to be present as well:
Be sure to visit the Carrera Oktoberfest Biergarten located on Oregon Avenue. Enjoy Oktoberfest entertainers with a pint of one of the rare beer selections from Deschutes Brewery released exclusively for the Fall Festival. Don’t miss the festival-wide Hops Happy Hour from 2 pm – 5 pm when all beers are a $1 off. Food vendors, Red Napkin and Spork, will be on hand with gourmet Oktoberfest fare to complete the ultimate Oktoberfest Experience.
Not sure why this wasn’t at last weekend’s Bend Oktoberfest, but it sounds like it will out-Oktoberfest last week’s event from what I’ve heard from last week.
The Festival runs from 11am until 10pm on Saturday the 1st (with the family area closing at 5pm), and from 11 to 6 on Sunday the 2nd (the family area closing on 4 that day).
