Bend Oktoberfest (2011)
This year’s Bend Oktoberfest is taking place Friday and Saturday, September 23rd and 24th in downtown Bend: the German-themed beer fest featuring wiener dog races, a yodeling contest, kids activities (on Saturday) and, of course, plenty of seasonal Oktoberfest styled beer.
Friday night the hours are from 5 until 10pm and is only open to 21 and over attendees; Saturday the ‘fest runs from noon until 10pm but from 6pm on it’s again only open to 21 and over.
Throughout the event folks can sample traditional Bavarian style music, beers, wines, foods and absurd games of skill for prizes! The Deschutes Brewery German Feast will offer traditional Bavarian foods and local fare from a variety of local chefs. Food will be served throughout the event in modest portions allowing attendees to try everything. We will be featuring the beer of Bend Brewing Company and Boneyard Beer! Other Central Oregon breweries will also be serving their best Oktoberfest brews and other ales.
Minnesota Avenue downtown will be closed for the festivities.
