This news isn’t nearly as sensational as the headline might indicate; they are simply moving around the corner, according to a blurb in the Bulletin today, into the former Subway space.

The Astro Lounge bar, located on Minnesota Avenue in downtown Bend, will move around the corner to the former Subway location on Bond Street, owner Josh Maquet said.

Maquet said he will submit plans to the city of Bend for building permits to construct “an urban patio” behind the new space, which is twice as large as the current one.

From the end of May until sometime in July, the Astro Lounge will be closed as they move.

And does anyone know what an “urban patio” is? I thought the only thing behind that space is the alley…
