Today the Bulletin reports that The Produce Patch (that little produce and grocery store on 2nd Street, across from the School Bus lot) is closing. The owner cites the economy as the reason for the closure.

Personally I really like The Produce Patch. Not all of the produce is local but they sure carried a nice variety. Everything was well marked and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. AND… they had a great spice section. I’ll be sad to see them go.

Originally The Produce Patch was a seasonal produce stand, and they’ll be returning to that business model in the spring. No location has been determined yet.
