On the first of the month, art galleries (and other businesses) in Downtown Bend (as well as the Old Mill and Northwest Crossing) stay open late with receptions and special presentations, as well as live music and (often) wine tastings—the First Friday art walk.

This month’s First Friday is also the Fall Art Hop, which is something that happens twice a year, in the spring and fall. Many more shops downtown participate during the Art Hop (the Downtown Bend website has their guide here), and this evening, with the Bend WebCAM finishing up tonight, downtown should have quite the festive atmosphere!

It all runs from 5 to 9pm (some places will stay open later). There’s also childcare provided (“Drop & Hop”) by the School of Enrichment for kids aged 3-10, at the Phoenix Inn (you’ll need to register online).
