Newberry Volcano occupies the divide between two of the West’s Native American cultural areas; the southern Columbia Plateau to the north and the Great Basin to the south. This talk will discuss the archaeological record from the Newberry vicinity, and identify changes in human geography as it relates to the volcano over the past 11,000 years.
