On Sunday, December 6, 2015, join fellow Bend foodies for Locavore’s next Meet Your Farmer Dinner – a Farm-to-table dinner at Barrio featuring local farmers Dan and Jeanne Carver of Imperial Stock Ranch.

Locally sourced Farm-to-table dinner featuring a five course meal by Chef Stephan Bothel features Lamb Bomba with Tomato Jam & Smoked Poblano Aoili; Lamb Bone Broth-Seared Mushrooms & lamb carnitas; Lamb Heart Pintxo Salad; Leg of lamb shepherd’s Pie with Green Chile mashers, finishing with Churros ice cream sandwich and Addy macs ice cream with an orange-caramel sauce.

Locavore’s Meet Your Farmer dinners consist of a locally sourced, gourmet meal hosted by and prepared by rotating local restaurants. During dinner, you will be treated to a presentation by the evening’s featured farmer. Imperial Stock Ranch has been raising sheep and cattle, and producing grains and hay for more than 140 years. Under the visionary leadership of owners Dan and Jeanne Carver, the historic family ranch has become a model for sustainable agriculture.  Preserving history and culture, the ranch headquarters is a National Historic District located in Shaniko. The ranch sustainably produces a wide variety of all-natural products – hand crafted meats, wool, yarn and apparel.

Meet Your Farmer dinners benefit Central Oregon Locavore, a nonprofit organization that’s been promoting a local, sustainable food system in Central Oregon since 2010. Locavore is dedicated to improving access to fresh, in-season, nutrient-dense, local food and educating the community about the benefits of sustainably produced food from local farmers and ranchers. Proceeds from this event help promote a more ecologically and socially just food system, public health and diversification of the local economy.
