Last night I received an email from Cary’s Produce Patch. While it’s no surprise that it’s the end of the season for fresh produce (frost on the ground this morning!) I was bummed to learn they won’t be back next year. It is with sadness & great relief; we have … Continue reading
Right on the heels of the Farmers Market starting up this week for the summer, the Central Oregon Saturday Market is kicking off again for the season this Saturday, the 4th. (Actually according to their website they actually started last weekend for Memorial Day.) It will be located in its … Continue reading
I missed this the first time around (about three weeks ago or so), but Big Lots opened up on the Eastside in the old Linens ‘N Things location (next to Old Navy). They’re one of those closeout/liquidator/wholesale stores that offer lots of stuff for (relatively) cheap; likely a store to … Continue reading
Kohl’s is opening this week to much fanfare—actually, they opened yesterday, but their Grand Opening celebration is this Wednesday, the 3rd, according to the Bulletin. To show their appreciation to the community (so says their ad in The Source), Whole Foods (formerly Wild Oats) is discounting everything in the store by 10% for today. (On regularly-priced items.)
I first saw the notice come up on Duncan’s blog today; apparently there’s a notice in the paper but since it’s an "E-edition" online I can’t point you to it: Tiger Lily, the downtown boutique store specializing in "eclectic home furnishings", is closing. I also received an email about it; … Continue reading
There’s a tentative opening date for Trader Joe’s up on the north side of town: March 28. They’ve had "Bend, OR" on their Coming Soon page for awhile now, and the exterior of the building looks finished. When open, it will be the eighth Trader Joe’s in Oregon.
So, starting tomorrow (Monday) I’ll be running with the Holiday Gift Guide idea I had last week. Between comments on that post, some ideas of my own, and (hopefully) more feedback as I post, there’s plenty to write about. The idea, of course, is to put together a gift guide … Continue reading
