Worthy Brewing opening soon
In just a few weeks, Bend’s newest brewery, Worthy Brewing, will be opening up on the east side: February 4 is the “quiet” soft opening, and February 26 is the grand opening (“with a bang”!). From their latest newsletter:
Located on the East Side of Bend, Worthy Brewing fancies itself a regular “Beertopia.” The campus-style facility will feature a production brewery, a full service restaurant, a multi-level bier garten, a hop garden, herb garden and greenhouse.
On opening day, Worthy will have on tap four of its own brews, including its inaugural “Go Time Ale,” an extra-pale ale which Chad describes as a “super drinkable American-style ale brewed with Crystal, Meridian and Sterling hops.”
On the restaurant side, Worthy will be offering a pizza-centric menu… In addition to thin-crusted “elemental” pizzas, which will feature select farm-fresh ingredients, Worthy will be offering a variety of appetizers and entrees that will be baked in a Van Gogh inspired wood-fired oven, as well as sumptuous soups, salads and desserts.
I’ve been lucky enough to stop in a few times to check out the progress (you can see in more detail over on my beer blog) and I can’t help but predict that they are going to be crazy popular, both for the beer (which I haven’t tried yet) and the restaurant—great food and a beer garden? Yes please!
And if you haven’t been over on the east side lately and seen the giant building on Highway 20 just east of 27th, it’s quite a sight, like a warehouse, really, and super impressive (not the least for the speed in which it was built—the groundbreaking was only last February 24th!). It’s definitely going to be a great addition to the beer scene here in Bend.
