Learn about fresh hops with Deschutes Brewery
Deschutes Brewery has a number of things going on this week. My friend Brenda sent this along to make sure I was on top of things:
Deschutes Brewery has something to celebrate having recently received the title of the World’s Best Beer from the recent World Beer Awards. We all have the opportunity to learn a little more about Deschutes Brewery’s secrets by enrolling in one of their University classes.
This Tuesday, October 2, from 6pm – 8 pm, you can learn about fresh hops and how to use them in beer. The class will be held downtown at the Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House on 1044 NW Bond Street. Tickets must be purchased in advance and online at their Website: http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/event/deschutes-brewery-university-fresh-hop-beers.
The cost is $25 and includes samples of fresh hop beers and light appetizers. This is a good opportunity to taste delicious beer and perhaps learn the secrets from one of the best breweries around.
You can buy those tickets here.
Also tonight is the Jubelale Release Party and Artist Signing downtown at the Pub starting at 5: celebrating the release of this year’s Jubelale winter beer and you can get signed posters of this year’s label (and meet the artist, Kaycee Anseth).
Then on Friday, the Brewery has their annual Fresh Hop Harvest Beer Dinner at the Mountain Room from 6 to 10pm: five courses made with locally-harvested food and paired with five different fresh hop beers. It’s $50 and you can get tickets here.
