Shakespeare in the Park is this weekend
In fact, it’s starting tomorrow! Shakespeare in the Park is back for its second year and this year they’re presenting “Romeo and Juliet” (one of the Big Four) down in Drake Park the next three days: Thursday through Saturday the 23rd through 25th. Lay It Out Events has again teamed up with local theater company CatCall Productions and Portland’s Northwest Classical Theatre Company to bring Shakespeare to life—something that’s fairly rare around here.
Each night the “doors” open at 5pm and the performances start at 6, and the good news is, there are still tickets available for each night’s showing (albeit not many). Ticket prices range from $20 to $75—$20 and $30 for most seats and $75 for the “Gold Seat” VIP tickets, which include 2 drink tickets (good for fare from Deschutes Brewery, Van Duzer Wines and Bendistillery) and dinner provided by 5 Fusion, and a chance to meet the cast and director after the performance. No, those aren’t the cheapest prices, but this is a pretty unique event for Bend and seeing Shakespeare performed live (and done well!) is well worth it.
