Joe Kind On A Sting-Ray: The History of BMX @ McMenamins

April 20, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$5

How many of us got our start in the cycling world on a BMX bike? The massive mountain bike scene in Central Oregon owes a lot to its BMX roots, and COTA Movie Night at McMenamins is bringing you a totally radical history lesson!

High Desert BMX & The Hub Cyclery presents Joe Kind On A Sting-Ray: The History of BMX.

Joe Kid On A Sting-Ray documents the evolution of a sport created by kids who were modifying their Schwinn Sting-Ray bicycles to look like motorcycles. This film takes a serious look at the crazy-fun history and evolution of BMX bicycle riding, from the streets of 1960s suburban neighborhoods to today’s Redbull-fueled dirt, street & halfpipe insanity.

Our friends at The Hub Cyclery will be providing some awesome door prizes for the evening!

Can’t get enough BMX? Get your crew stoked for this COTA Movie Night by taking them to the Great Northwest World Qualifier BMX Races in Redmond the second weekend of April!
