Faith, Hope and Charity Vineyards over in Terrebonne is hosting their third annual Amateur Wine & Beer Makers’ Competition next month, on Sunday, April 19, and have the call out now for beer and wine makers to enter. Here are the details:

We are hosting our 3rd Annual Amateur Wine & Beer (and Cider!) Makers’ Competition on April 19th from 1 to 3PM! So if you brew at home or know someone who does, register for our awesome event!

Randy Scorby will be one of the judges for our competition: he is a Grand Master II Beer and Mead judge certified by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) and the BJCP Continuing Education Director, who has judged about 70 homebrew competitions, as well as some commercial beer competitions.

“In 2011 I won the National Homebrew Competition and was named National Homebrewer of the Year. I have been homebrewing for 10 years, usually brewing around 20 batches per year,” said Randy. This gives our winners some definite bragging rights!

$15 per entry, all applications must be received by April 11th and all of the home brews and wines must be dropped off at the vineyard by noon on April 19th.

With a deadline of April 11 that should give you some time to get something together if you’re planning to enter. And if you want to attend the event itself that day, it’s a $5 entry fee which is waived if you’re participating in the competition. They will have live music from CinderBlue during that time, and the actual judging will take place at 2pm.
