The Jackalope Grill‘s move from the Scandia Plaza to Downtown Bend (next door to the Visit Bend offices on Lava Road) that I wrote about a few months back now has a tentative date, within the next couple of weeks. From their email newsletter:

The last night we are open in Scandia Plaza is Saturday, June 16. Then everything happens (OK, not at once but close). The ranges, tables and some of the refrigeration are headed downtown beginning the next day. All of the other stuff follows. Spices, wines, spirits, food stuffs, tables and chairs all loaded up like a scene from Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. We are headed off to the promised land. We’re shooting for a closure of about a week.  You have probably heard this one too, “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.”  So, if on the outside chance that all goes smoothly, our soft-opening has been tentatively (and I do mean tentatively) scheduled for June 25th.

So if all goes well, that’s only a week of being closed. Not bad (but understandable if it runs longer).
