Beer releases and events this week
There are a number of special beer releases and events happening around the area this week that you’re going to want to check out.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) Crux Fermentation Project is teaming up with Blue Pine Bar to put on a special beer dinner featuring Crux beer pairings. It’s a five-course meal that looks pretty impressive (menu here) and the cost is $60, tickets for which you can purchase online here. There are still a handful of tickets left and the dinner starts at 6pm, so you have slightly less than 24 hours to get one!
On Thursday the 14th, Deschutes Brewery is officially releasing this year’s version of The Abyss, their hugely popular barrel-aged Imperial Stout, with an all day celebration (starting at 11am when they open) featuring The Abyss on tap, available in bottles, and a special vertical flight likely featuring four or five vintages to taste side-by-side. They’ll also be offering a special food menu to commemorate the day. If nothing else don’t miss out on the chance to try the vertical tasting.
Also on Thursday, Worthy Brewing is releasing their first seasonal winter beer: Powder Keg Winter Ale. It’s a red-hued IPA that’s 7.1% alcohol by volume and 65 IBUs, and it’s going to be released on draft and in a limited run of 22-ounce bottles.
Three Creeks Brewing over in Sisters has their annual winter/Christmas beer coming out this Friday, the 15th, their Rudolph’s Imperial Red, officially launching at 6pm in their bar. Rudolph’s is an 8.6% alcohol strong ale packed with well-balanced big malt and hops flavors. And, mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7th because that’s Three Creeks’ 3rd annual Rudolph’s Imperial Red Vertical Tasting! It’s $25 per person and you get appetizers along with four years of Rudolph’s: 2013, 2012, 2011 and a barrel-aged 2010. Details at the link.
