Jackalope Grill moving downtown
It’s not new news that the Jackalope Grill is moving downtown, since The Source first reported it back at the end of September, but it was news I had either forgotten or missed since I was a bit surprised to read about the latest update from their monthly email newsletter:
It now looks like we will be able to move into our new space sometime between the end of April to mid-May. The bids are in and are inline with the cost projections. By the time you read this, the bids on the final phase of construction will have been awarded and all the consideration about the design of the kitchen (and the rest of the project) will soon be over.
The space they’re building out is next door to Visit Bend in the Putnam Pointe building on Lava Road (750 Lava Road, Suite 139 to be exact). Currently they’re located in the Scandia Plaza, on the corner of Division and 3rd Street south of town—not exactly the place you’d expect to find a fine dining restaurant.
Their new location will feature—in addition to plenty of parking from the downtown parking garage next door—a “1,200 square-foot indoor courtyard and big kitchen” according to The Source article. (I’m trying to get my head around an “indoor courtyard” that big.)
