Free tire disposal, 3/17
This Saturday, March 17th, Knott Landfill is having a free tire collection (and disposal) event all day from 7 to 4:30. No, it’s not the most exciting thing to be doing on a weekend but it’s free and really, the alternative sucks—many of us have out hiking or mountain biking or just tooling around and come across old tires that have been dumped because someone didn’t want to spend the money to dispose of them properly.
Residents are encouraged to dispose of unwanted tires free at a collection event scheduled on Saturday, March 17 at Deschutes County’s Knott Landfill Recycling & Transfer Facility. The semi-annual event benefits the community by giving residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of used tires.
The collection event takes place at Knott Landfill, 61050 SE 27th St. in Bend on Saturday, March 17 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to clean up their property as well as neighboring lands by recycling tires at the event.
Tires both on-and-off the rim can be dropped off on March 17. Tires over 24.5” (wheel diameter), farm equipment tires, tires from businesses, fleet tires, or heavy equipment tires will not be accepted at the event.
Limit: 12 tires per household. If you have more than 12 tires, please contact the Solid Waste office in advance for approval.
