Apologies for the lack of regular updates lately! July has been one of those crazy summer months with so much stuff going on that I’m hard-pressed to keep up with everything. Hopefully everyone has been out enjoying the summer as well! What’s been your favorite activity or event so far this summer?

In the meantime don’t forget to check the Free Summer Activity Guide if you’re looking for things to do, and here are a few suggestions and reminders for things coming up:

• This Saturday the 27th Whole Foods is apparently having some sort of Ice Cream Social from 2 to 5 in the afternoon: “Enjoy all kinds of great frozen treats around our store. From adult treats to summer classics. We have you covered.” Sounds like a great way to beat the heat…
• Also on Saturday, the new Growler Guys West (at the corner of College Way and Newport Avenue) is having their Grand Opening from noon to 4: “The first 50 customers to fill a growler get a free TGG silipint, and the first 100 get a free TGG 64oz growler bottle. YES, you read that right – if you’re one of the first fifty, you get a free silipint AND growler! PLUS, free hamburgers, hot dogs and soda for everyone!” Lots of beer of course, so be sure to swing by.
• Next week, August 2nd is First Friday, which of course is always lots of fun when the weather is perfect! Be downtown from 5 to 9pm to enjoy businesses open late with special art displays, refreshments, wine, live music, and more. Plus it’s free!
