Apparently word has been going around, particularly on craigslist, that Volo in downtown Bend is closed. (Warning: Flash-based website with music. Very annoying.) Even Bend Oregon Restaurants is speculating. So I gave them a call, curious to see if it was true.

Yes and no.

I simply got the machine with a message confirming that they are currently closed "for re-staffing and holiday parties." But they are opening back up on December 17th for dinner service (next Wednesday).

Will they re-open the 17th? We’ll just have to wait and see. "Re-staffing" sounds a bit ominous.

Meanwhile, Fireside Red is closed for two months. Which sounds to me even more ominous; re-opening "sometime" in February is pretty vague. I’m just sayin’.
