SCA
I never read the Sports section of the Bulletin (or any paper) but the article about the SCA in it today caught my eye. SCA stands for "Society for Creative Anachronism" and is essentially "an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe."
Anyway, the Bulletin article messed up the URL for the local chapter of the SCA; the proper format is www.corvaria.antir.sca.org. (They threw at @ sign in there, making it look like some weird hybrid.)
The article was about the local SCA chapter’s gathering in Culver over this past weekend, something I totally would have blogged about if I’d known. And no, I wouldn’t have been snarky about it; I happen to like the concept, overall. (Yeah, geeky. So what?) (Although the lead photo the Bulletin ran with that article would make it really easy to be snarky, if I wanted… good grief Bulletin, what were you thinking?)
